Kathy has been teaching accordion in North London for fifteen years, both in schools and for private pupils.

What experience do I need?

"If you have never played an instrument before, but you fancy having a go at the accordion, then I can help. I've taught plenty of complete beginners with no musical experience at all. Even if you don't have an accordion I can advise and guide you with what sort of instrument to buy".

 

I already play another instrument - can I easily learn the accordion?

"If you are a musician who wants to add another instrument, and just want some guidance to get going, to get to grips with the logic of the instrument - then I can help you with a few lessons.  Maybe you are a performer who needs to practise a particular song for a show (once I had a bride who wanted to play a special song at her wedding)... I can help you and suggest practising tips, repertoire and technique."

 

Where are the lessons held?

"I teach from home in Highgate, North London, just minutes from the underground station.
